Red00: Post Jam Update

Hello!

It's been about one week since the Fireside Game Jam and I'm excited to show off all of the new features in Red00, but before that I'd like to thank everybody who played and provided feedback on my game. This was my first game jam and the feedback and advice really helped me to see what I did well and what I need to improve on. Now onto the new features:

• New control scheme
  • Use WASD to move
  • Mouse to aim
  • Left click to shoot

• Sound effects
  • Both player and enemies make sound effects when they attack each other

• Difficulty
  • The number one complaint was that the game was too easy
  • Well that's no longer true! The games difficulty will now scale with how long you survive

• Lag reduction
  • Another big complaint was the ridiculous amount of lag
  • This has been mostly resolved by removing unnecessary pathfinding requests
  • And by including other miscellaneous optimizations

• Gameplay
  • The heal ability was reworked so it's no longer useless
  • Bullets are larger and faster, making it easier to hit those small annoying enemies
  • Enemies move slightly faster

• Settings Menu
  • Added some nice visual filters
  • Volume control
  • Leaderboard options

• Leaderboard
  • Go to settings and enable scoring, then enter a name
  • If scoring is enabled your score will appear on the leaderboard once the player dies
  • To see the scoreboard click here
  • Currently only the top ten scores are shown

So that concludes this update. I wanted to include more stuff, but I also didn't want to hold off on releasing (and becoming CD Projekt Red). But don't worry, a lot of behind the scenes things have been updated so it should be easier to make updates in the future. So for the next update I'm thinking of reworking the in game UI and adding a few more enemies.
